What is missing from Pornography

Observation, consummation, obsession with the sexiest most exciting images of sex can never replace the smell of someone's skin, of their breath, their sweat, their sex... the warmth of their hands, their gaze, their voice, the pull of their desire, the sweetness of their surrender.

No matter how beautiful the models, no matter how perfect the angle of the photography, no matter how fast the Internet connection, nothing can replace the presence of another human being with all their imperfections, with all the discomforts and fears they may bring up in us... nothing is as real as touch, nothing feeds us as deeply. Especially when more is given than what is taken.

May we all learn to dare break through the barriers that keep us away from each other that we may know the tender peace in communion through our bodies again and again and again.
