Welcome to my world
I must admit this is not my first attempt at blogging... I set up
a very well thought-out blog last year, posted twice, and quit,
pissed off that apparently nobody noticed. How's that for having
issues with instant gratification?
I guess I've grown up a little since then. I've learned a lot
more about myself and about other people and about sex as well as
my own and other people's fears, issues and desires about sex, plus
I've come across a few bloggers so interesting and committed to
their craft that they made me want to read them daily.
I have an awful lot (or maybe a wonderful lot) to say on the subject
of sexuality, certainly enough to talk about it every day, so here
I am... today... and this time I'll try to hang in there a little
longer than two days no matter kind what kind of response or non-response
happens. I will do it on faith that what I need to express may fall
into the hands of some someones who will benefit somehow from reading
it.
The short of my story is this: I have always loved sex; I have
always loved to touch and be touched but I grew up, like many others,
with a heavy guilt trip about sex that led to ridiculous fears and
expectations. I've been able to work through a lot of stuff with
the help of some very tender people, and I've also found a great
deal of freedom from inherited inhibitions through my artwork.
I started by drawing images taken from pornography sites of sexual
positions that I found confronting, and later began an extensive
project on self-portraiture, which I found extremely helpful with
self-image; and these are very interconnected. This blog is to bring
you a drawing every day, share some reflections and insights, and
offer some links to other sites and projects also working towards
a more positive view of sexuality.
